Especially Manhattan Mini Storage?

They've been bought out and apparently had a lot of changes. Not changes for the better.

I think I'm about to have a big tussle with them.

No but I probably SHOULD. Convenient storage rental almost requires a car, which leaves me out.

Off topic: Do native NY'ers say I was "on" Long Island or "in" Long Island?

I didn't want to open up a new thread about this.

Well, it depends what you want to store.

I am not in any way recommending Manhattan Mini Storage, but I believe they provide free car service.

Quite simply:
IF you need a storage unit: you have too much stuff.

Paying to rent space, hauling stuff you don't use and maybe don't want anymore, is, in reality, a total waste of money.

Take good pictures, take good measurements and post on Craigslist or Facebook- cheap.

Then you'll some money, save on storage unit fees, and be rid of the headache.

Best

We just lost our storage facility .

I had a 10x15 at work fo 50 bucks a month for 12 years .

Now they have offices they want to build in the space .

We stored so much that ended up being thrown away , given away or donated …

But living in an apartment there is still stuff we need to store …

Things like suit cases , my drums when not using them , family pictures , bike rack , etc …

They wanted between 200-300 a month for what i had .

We ended up finding out another building the mgmt company of where we live owned had storage and they said even though we don’t live there we can use it ….it is about haLf the size of what we had but now we have half the stuff so for 60 bucks a month life is back to normal

My storage is with Manhattan Mini. They stopped the the car service in 2020. It was supposed to only be temporarily because of the pandemic but then it became permanent. Then when they got bought out they lost our insurance paperwork in the turnover and charged us for their insurance because they said we had no proof of insurance on file. I showed them the email I sent before the buyout when I renewed my contract and they refused to refund us but said they would stop charging us for insurance moving forward. How generous.
