It's the first time ever that NYC tops the list. I'm surprised.

Most of the budget goes to welfare and negative ROI government jobs/contracts.

I know Hong Kong has been having rough patches, but I think it's unlikely that living in NYC is more expensive than living in Hong Kong. Same with Shanghai, in terms of what would be equivalent to New York City since Shanghai's official boundaries are massive, was and is incredibly expensive. I think the only reasonable argument is that very, very labor intensive work like maids and such is relatively cheap, but so many other things are absurd like real estate price per square foot that it's hard to understand how that difference gets made.

900 homeless in Singapore that's 1 in 5,555 compared to 50,000 homeless or 1 in 160 in N.Y.C.

So let's go over this again. Why is N.Y.C. the most expensive city in the world?

NYC is more expensive than HK or Shanghai and it's not even close. What's expensive in HK or Shanghai besides RE?

Recently Shenzen, China, surpassed us with having more billionaires than in Manhattan, NYC, which once held that crown. Shenzen used to be much much smaller, as did Shanghai. They underwent tremendous growth by essentially robbing the USA secretly, and they rapidly built new mega cities with the stolen funds.

As NYC kids keep promoting communism and socialism as their savior, China is now moving towards a new form of Capitalism. So, China will definitely become the next economic superpower. For some reason the kids in NYC think capitalism is awful, but the track record for Capitalist countries is way, way better than Communist.

Well you would be surprised. It costs something like 30k to have a drivers permit and own a car.
