Nice, I'm going to probably ride it for fun just to see the station.
Still though, this should have been a through-running train as these massive terminal berths and interlockings are ridiculously expensive and have less utility value than a series of smaller stations in a through-running configuration.
Will this connect Grand Central with AirTrain (which runs from Jamaica to JFK)?
Unrelated to LIRR, but does anyone know whether any form of direct bus from Grand Central to JFK has started operating again? There was the legendary Airporter (which one could take from the airport even past Grand Central all the way Upstate in the early 1980s), which changed name into something generic, something like NYC Express Bus or similar, but that stopped operating when the epidemic started. I can't figure out whether it was resurrected or not. Anyone knows?

IIRC Airporter became Golden Touch, don't know if they've restarted JFK-GCT service.
The last comment on Trip Advisor is from the fall of 2021, saying that the bus had stopped operating. No updates, so I guess it has not restarted, by that company or any other. Also seems as though people who left comments weren't as happy with Golden Touch as they were with the old Airporter (and my own experience agrees with that). I am surprised that nobody took over that bus service now that air travel is completely restored. I would imagine it would be lucrative, just considering the number of people who were using those buses.
Well, I guess that's something, although a direct bus would be better. Many people still lug a lot of luggage to/from the airport, plus it was simply easier and actually I think even a bit cheaper to just take the Airporter (or whatever it was called when the other bus company took over). One of the downsides of NYC is that it is very time-consuming and tedious to get out of the city, either by car (road traffic ), or by rail (train delays ), or by plane (distance from the airports + lack of direct connection ).
