Thats not what I said at all. I am speaking about the New Yorkers who move to the NJ suburbs.
You consistently speak about NY politics while you boast about moving to NJ which has the exact same politics as NYC.
Thats the point.
NJ’s politics are only the same as NY’s if you think all democrats are a hive mind. NJ’s dems got the scare of their life this past election, unlike in NY where a massive underclass blindly keeps them in power.
They won’t be pushing the furthest left nonsense here for a long time, if ever.
In a thread about housing costs you’re going to try to say NJ is the SAME as NY? That makes sense to you? For the cost of a NYC 1 bedroom apartment one can buy a mansion in NJ. That’s the same?

Meh, if other states are an example, they'll just modify voting laws and/or bring in more immigrants until they win.

If you're comparing NYC to the entire state of New Jersey, sure. But that's apples and oranges. You can get a mansion in parts of Long Island - certainly upstate - for that same cost as well. And Jersey City is apparently MORE expensive than NYC:

Unfortunately, many of these people who are fleeing NYC's high housing costs go on to vote in the same way/for the same policies that helped to make NYC so unaffordable. They are like locusts, bringing destruction wherever they go.
Common wisdom says people are fleeing NYC (and NYS for that matter) due to high taxes, but new study gives lie to that theory.
People are moving for reasons myself and others from Staten Island have long known; housing costs are cheaper in many areas of NJ, Conn and even Westchester. Oh and you can tack on North Carolina, Florida, Arizona and other areas.
By housing costs we're mainly talking about owning and even going just across river to NJ homes are less expensive on average which translates into lower mortgage and other associated costs.
Much of NJ nor CT for that matter are exactly known for low taxes, but at end of day things even out.
Probably a thousand different reasons for every thousand people who leave New York City. But for me, the biggest reason to leave are QOL issues.
Overcrowding for one. For centuries, going back to the colonial era, New York politicians have been in bed with landowners, builders and real estate interests. Probably has to do with the originial city being so squeezed tightly down below Wall street that the wealthy realized they could make a fortune from real estate.
From families like the De Lanceys, Beekmans and Astors to the tenements of the Lower East Side, builders have tried to cram as many people as possible into as small a space as possible. Apartment buildings built over former parks, baseball fields, golf courses, amusement parks, racetracks - even over interstate highways - shows the city cared more about real estate and construction profits then it did about the QOL of its own residents.

NJ Democrats don’t have the ability to operate a welfare state for votes scheme.
