Why is this such big news ? Isn't there a shooting in Manhattan pretty much every day?

Not to say it's no big deal - of course it should be considered a big deal in some ways. but I just wasn't aware it would be considered breaking news on all channels unless there's something more to it

Edit - I guess the guy died so that's why it's big deal. Shooting murder in TS not great for tourism

Wait, Times Square if a Gun Free Zone!

How dare they!

I'm Truly surprised the signs didn't stop criminals from shooting. Really I am.

This happened during rush hour and surely there were multiple people around who could have been injured or killed. This is not 1978. We should have higher standards, this is not a safe environment for people to even commute through.

A young man's life was cut short by BS. I doubt he even knew the perpetrators. It's always fear mongering until it hits close to home.

It doesn't seem like crime has gone down at all since Mayor Adams started his term.
