What is a Birch anyway?
Hehe nice. So true. But the real thing is it is an addiction.

How many cafes or coffee/caffeine sellers would you people estimate are in the city? The answer is probably more than any other business out there.

It is addictive. Not just these cafes but also the restaurants serve up addicting foods. Everything is overpriced and geared towards the kids who transplanted here.

When you guys are ready for a citywide mass boycott of ALL cafes restaurants AND bars… I’m serious. This is the stuff dreams are made of.

Who do you think makes more in NYC, liquor stores or coffee shops? Interesting question

Even I would not go into a Birch if I saw one.
However, pierre really said it like it is concerning the toxic tip culture. It is real.
I recommend a citywide boycott of cafes bars and restaurants. Millions in boycott mode.
Boycott and we all just have picnics in the park…,,,,

Coffee is the most widespread business in NYC besides real estate.

I heard 89% of New Yorkers drink coffee every day.

Now what I think some go through is that single and unmarried people go out for coffee just to not be completely alone. It’s a thing.

Welcome to the forum Simon. I'm the MoD here. I run a tight ship but I don't at the same time. Have fun. Have dialogue. And enjoy life.

I do but I cannot recall ever seeing a Birch. It sounds too uppity for my tastes.

I have a coffee addiction so every time I am in my spots I have to maintain decent behavior. Even at my places I am a regular at, most baristas have caffeine addiction or withdrawal issues so it’s unpredictable. I’m usually on edge.
A 2023 citywide awareness boycott would be something beautiful……

Why don’t you guys just make your own coffee?? Starbucks is disgusting and other shops give people diarrhea because those containers are not cleaned as well as they should be.

Here’s an idea: Get yourselves a French press that can be easily cleaned, buy your favorite grounds, some pasture raised heavy creamer, add a little sugar free chocolate almond milk and some monk fruit and bam! You got the best tasting coffee evah! You can also buy a jar and tip yourself all the money you would’ve spent on pesticide-ridden coffee brewed in industrialized dirty containers!

I just buy coffee at Whole Foods. I enjoy the cold Triple Shot Latte coffee sold in the cans. Pretty good. Coffee in a specialty shop I do when I'm out a few times a week now, so I spend a lot less. When I do get it, I make sure I go to my favorite spots... Stumptown has a spot I love, La Colombe, Blue Bottle, Birch, Variety Coffee or one of my Italian spots. Agree that Starbucks is disgusting.
