Shame Penn South killed off that long standing tennis complex, but it is their land and new building should bring much needed revenue and expand housing options.

What? You think Chelsea along 8th avenue is any better?

Huge parts of Chelsea are just as crime infested in their own way as anywhere else in city, especially along 8th avenue from 14th north to 34th and beyond.

Duane Reade, CVS and similar stores down there are frequently jacked same as everywhere else, so are supermarkets such as Gristedes. That BBQ on 23rd and 8th has huge problem with "dine/drink and dash".

FIT campus down there long as resembled a locked down fortress.

The Lidl near me in NJ came in with a bang. They had lots of great things and prices a few years ago. Gradually, the products became sparse and the prices rose to the point that it isn’t that much of a bargain compared to your regular supermarkets. The customer service went downhill as well. I used to go every week. Now I haven’t been back in months.

The random stuff section is the reason to go to Lidl. The only one I've ever been in, in NJ, has a large random stuff aisle.
I've gotten German made craft supplies there. The card stock and construction paper, for example, actually has some body, unlike the flimsy stuff Crayola sells now.

The reason why Costco beats out all of these stores because they hire a lot of security and you can't go in without a membership. It won't be long that all these stores will require membership to get in or have items delivered or picked up. The old shopping experience will be gone due to rampant theft.

Target and Walmart all have deliveries and pickup at the store.

Never said Chelsea was any better right now.... I work near Penn. I see the DR and CVS getting shoplifted all day.

The only I dont see that issue is the DR inside Moynihan... might be the state troopers and national guard with AR15s patrolling having something to do with that
