What are the nice beaches to take A FAMILY.. meaning not alot of thuggery or fronting left and right... nice, quiet, reasonably clean, and accessible to public transportation..

I'm looking mostly for Queens and Brooklyn...

i'm looking for specific details. Like if rockaways, what specific area/train stop. stuff like that...

thanks

Quiet? I'm not sure that's an amenity you'll find at the beach in NYC.

Jacob Riis Park. The many times that I've been there, it's been pleasant. A ***** to get there though. Most people who go there travel by vehicle. You can get there by taking the Rockaway Park shuttle and transfer to the Q22 or the Q35 which will leave you inside the park. Or the 2 train to Flatbush Av. and transfer to the Q35.

I second Riis Park. Nice vibe and sand dunes with the skyscrapers behind them.

I don't know if it's considered Brighton or Coney Island but the spot right at the end of Ocean Parkway has always been very nice.

It isn't in Queens or Brooklyn, but Long Beach is incredibly easy to get to via LIRR and was family friendly during my last visit.

I live in walking/biking distance to coney & brighton. They are ok, but they have to do since its so close.

I have family in Long Beach (the LIRR goes only a few blocks away from the beach, and not deep in LI at all, right near the start), and I think its pretty nice over there
