The NYC first-time homebuyer grant has been temporarily suspended for both new applicants and existing applicants?

Does anyone have an update on this one?

The city has witnessed budget cuts that directly impact vital aspects of our community, including security, education, sanitation, and housing. It's making life confusing, and we don't really understand what's happening in our city now.

Even if temporary , this is not good. The city appears to be in trouble.

As a baby boomer I was able to purchase my first home after saving ( the old fashion way )
for 20 years. Some money down , a mortgage in the double digits. Couldn't get the loan until
I paid off a parking ticket. Imagine that ? No Degree but very handy.
Worked round the clock for decades to pay it off. As long as you were willing to sacrifice your
time and talent jobs were available.

Until recently ( early 2000's ) you could land a quarter million dollar home.

Today ? Houses are over a million, interest rates are back in the 70's
and prospect of employment appears bleak. A degree and some hands on skills
might help. I truly feel sorry for the young couple trying to make it it N.Y.C.

If I were starting off today living and working in N.Y.C. would only be a dream. Just to dang expensive.

It appears that Mayor Eric Adams might be facing a decline in popularity in NYC due to his recent decisions.

Imagine having elected Curtis Sliwa instead…. It would’ve been so fascistic… there would be no solidarity thus no migrants in hotels having three meals a day and PlayStations while cutting city budgets… congestions pricing would’ve been nipped in the bud….there would have been a strategy to reduce crime, city budget would’ve been used on New Yorkers… NYC would’ve been a healthier place, thank God we did not elect this fascist.

Whoa! Now we all know that life would be better in every way if Sliwa was mayor but that does not justify having a fascist in office. We really dodged a bullet on that one. Thank god the whole world is turning into a flaming ball of mierda without these fascists in office, any horrible fate is better than electing people who lean slightly right.

That’s just funny. You have to be pretty stupid to run nyc into the ground.

1) What's Sliwa's plan to govern, given no governing experience?

2) What's his strategy to reduce crime, other than his past Guardian Angel vigilante experience?

3) Correct me if I'm wrong, but congestion pricing is more of an MTA initiative, plus a state as well as a city decision, right?

Nomination of Curtis Sliwa as GOP candidate for mayor showed just how low that party has come in NYC. This and fact no one remotely qualified bothers to run as republican for mayor any longer. Last was Bloomberg ( republican, democrat, now independent or whatever).
