we were 20 minutes from honesdale in tanglwood north off route 390 just before hawley and 5 minutes from lake wallenpaupack.

when we first bought we had the tanglwood ski park in the middle of the development, but they went bust.

honesdale is nice , bigger then hawley …

but still not much to do in retirement and of course honesdale hospital and scranton hospital are your nearest hospitals….

i wouldn’t go to either for more then some emergency room visit for a cut

The hospital situation is an issue. I had a medical event last year, and like my close proximity to Weill Cornell. In mid Covid, the friend who I went house shopping with had one of them available. He offered it to me if I wanted to bug out of NYC. I declined. I liked the fact that I was surrounded by major top end hospitals here.

The flip side is, I don't know if I'm going to allow myself to be held hostage by heath care indefinitely.
