Hi, i am moving to a place in corona queens on 42nd ave and 99th street. it is a brownstone and was wondering if this area is safe or do you have the low down on this area. is there a subway nearby and is there anything to worry about?

oh yeah supposedly it is near this subway: Subway 7, stop Junction Boulevard or 103st/Corona Plaza

so was wondering if there were any problems and such. also would be interested in knowing about getting to manhattan from here will it be a big deal for me?

Getting to Manhattan won't be bad. You just take the 7. It will probably take 20-30 minutes the most. Corona isn't a bad area. It does have some problems with poverty. Overall though it's a working class neighborhood, heavily populated with Latinos from all over Mexico, Central and South America. It's not dangerous. Just be smart. I'm in the area often. There can be gangs in certain parts of Corona, as anywhere in the city, but again just have street smarts (don't walk around by yourself at 4am) and I dont think it will really be a problem for you.

Have you checked out the area yourself first? good luck with the move!

I live like riggghhtt near you. Hmm let's see. I'm not gonna lie...Corona is a semi-shady neighborhood. During the day, you should be fine. If you're a woman, don't be stupid and walk outside after dusk..and you will be good. I never EVER walk outside after dusk.
