I think most men would/should give up a seat for a women, I see this happen a lot on the trains. I think it is very gentlemanly, and more men should do it. I usually decline and keep standing b/c it doesn't bother me to stand, but I think a few more gentleman in the world can't hurt

Over the summer I had a broken foot, i was on cruthes and everything, I would get a seat about 50% of the time. Some times people sitting down would be too a shamed to look at me trying to balance on one leg while they sat down.

I agree. I do continue to offer a seat after first evaluating the woman, carefully assessing her vital stats, looking at the ring finger, and making a statistical determination of whether she is likely to be a high earner based on her attire.
Once I feel that she affirmatively meets the selected criteria I then offer her my seat, fake my own pain, ask the fella next to her to now move over, sit next to her, and try to get her phone number.
Bottom Line: I'm a good guy cause I do offer her my seat.
