My best friend broke her arm and has no health insurance. She's also dirt poor and I told her to get Health+... when she applied they told her she was elligable for full Medicaid but she's worried joining would effect her credit (credit score, credit rating).

Would it?

I want her to get some coverage!

No. It's there for people in need and if she's a citizen she NEEDS to get her brorken arm fixed.

They may require her to pay it back when she dies though through her estate. Not sure, I think they do that in California though.

As far as I know, the credit rating agencies do not keep track of, let alone base credit ratings on, who has Medicaid versus who has any other type of health insurance.
