I currently live in East Islip. My son had ADD. We have had a horrible experience here with Special Education. We have our house on the market and are trying to gather as much information on special education in various districts as possible. We have been told that Islip works well with children like my son. I have heard that Commack is great. Hauppauge is supposed to be liberal with services. North Shore has a high $ figure on Special Education and has a 14% IEP rate and their website lists services available. We are willing to move northshore/southshore nassau/suffolk if we can be reasonably sure our son will get what he needs. Any help is appreciated!

Hi, I must apologize I read your other thread where that you did not mention your bad time with East Islip I am so sorry to hear that, I had a really bad experience with my daughtere with Smithtown. Hauppauge I heard is really good. I also heard that Conneticuot is good also.

You don't have to appologize. Everyone's experience is different, but if I am going to move I'd prefer to find a district where I don't hear the horror stories and most of what you hear is positive. Thanks for the feedback on hauppauge and Connetquot. Both are areas I have been looking at. Thank you again.
