I live in the Bronx and often travel to Chinatown for my favorite Thai dishes. Lately, I found the place I used to go has changed new management and no longer seem authentic. They are more touristy and trying to be Hard Rock.
I'm looking for suggestions in the Bronx, Manhattan and other boroughs.
Haven't been myself yet but I have heard that Honey's Thai Pavillion on Westchester Ave in Pelham Bay is pretty good . I think it's near the Buhre Ave stop on the 6
A friend of mine told me there are few Thai eateries in Hell's Kitchen, around 50th and 2nd. Anyone tried that area before?
There a ton of Thai places in Hell's Kitchen. I'd recommend Wondee Siam which is on 9th Ave. between 52nd and 53rd in Hell's Kitchen. They actually opened up a second location only block from the first one, (9th btw. 53rd and 54th) appropriately named "Wondee Siam II". The original restaurant is tiny with only a few tables. The second location is a little bigger.
Good and inexpensive - it's a neighborhood favorite so expect a wait.
BTW - 50th St. and 2nd Ave. is on the East Side, near the UN, not in Hell's Kitchen.
I recommend Lime on 108 Street and Bway in Manhattan. Excellent restaurant.
