The 6-2 shift becoming permanent is being discussed, among truck cuts and ongoing bargaining with the city, down at the Union Hall today. I could not make this one. Should know a lot more this evening.

How does everybody feel about this 6-2 shift? I feel it will be hotly contested when the ballots go out. Yet, I think 6-2 might edge for the win.

Night Plow is still on (for now), the union is discussing the possibility of going 6-2 all year round as the day shift. I would assume that our snow shifts would be 6a-6p.

Yeah, there are all kinds of T-shirts.

please let us know if you hear anything about layoffs, the pension/health care issues, etc...

I have a tissue (which is another reason why I keep asking about layoffs, with my seniority I don't want to lose it) so the 6-2 shift possibly being year-round doesn't really affect me...but I will say I'd vote for 7-3 during the winter, we still leave work early enough (1:40 or 2:40, not a big difference to me) and I like having that extra hour of sleep in the morning

the dayline brooms in my district are 7-3 year-round and I'm guessing that won't change, since times for the meters and ASP don't change

The 6-2 shift becoming permanent is being discussed, as quoted by "full truck" I would prefer a 7-3 or an 8-4 shift in all honesty. I dont live in penn. or outer mongolia whatever like many people on this job. If you bought a house two states over tough .. lol I wouldnt mind picking up my route 9-5! Maybe there should be a vote for that! (guys who actually still live in the city.) yea, Im all for changing the shifts to 9AM - 5PM.
