I wouldn't be surprised if DCAS sends out notices for round 3 of the physical soon.

Fulltruck, you pretty much answered your own question.

"It's possible the Union created the "Pensions Enhancement Fund" because:

- We are never going to get the "real" VSF
- He saw Tier 5 coming
- He thought it was the responsible thing to do.

Our Pension Enhancement is funded by our own contract money. The city pumped a few million in there and that could have been used several ways."

The PHF has nothing to do with the VSF so its still on the table for future negotiations. The corrections officers money ran out so that's why the lost the VSF. If their money builds up again they will get it back.

One-Person EZ-Pack-Attrition.
The Department will implement a productivity program reducing the staffing levels required to operate some front-loading collection trucks handling containerized pick-up. A savings of $1.3 million will be realized in Fiscal 2010 and 31 Sanitation worker positions will be affected. The savings increases in the outyears.

found in the preliminaty 2010 budget proposal. so 31 ezp routes will changed. i wonder what garages and boros will get the cuts.

What I was really trying to convey was that Harry started the PHF in lieu of the VSF because he knows it's a lost cause. My understanding of the Corrections VSF is that it's finished. I never really followed up on it too much. I recall that if NYCERS didn't exceed a benchmark for interest earned for a certain amount of consecutive years then it was kaupput. I don't think we are getting it. I was asking you because you seemed certain. Maybe you heard something that you could share? Did you hear that the union was actively persuing the VSF?
