Mayor Bloomberg is expected to outline several cost-cutting measures, including new layoffs and a sales tax hike, during his executive budget address later today. NY1's Grace Rauh filed the following report.The city has taken a beating from the economic downturn. When Mayor Michael Bloomberg unveils his budget plans to New Yorkers on Friday, he's going to be the bearer of more bad news.

teachers, Administration of Children's Services workers, firefighters and police are the only city agencies being spared

also city agencies will have to cut their budgets by 16% for next year

guess we're not safe...if anyone here with inside info knows anything specific to DSNY please let us know

Where did this supervisor get his info?Bottom line is nobody knows what's going to happen until it happens...

they can tell u no layoffs, but do not listen they will not tell you till the day you are being laid off..
