I would like to know more or less, how long does it take to purchase a place; from the moment you're pre-approved for an FHA loan to the moment you close the deal. I know this varies, and depends on many factors, but I'm not looking for an exact time frame, rather, an approximation so that I can properly time my purchase.

The lease on my current place expires in August, so I would to close the deal around that time. When would it be a good time to start the process?

Does it make any it difference that the loan is a FHA and not a conventional one?

any insight or helpful input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Well it's usually 3-4 months but consider that sometimes you might take several months just to find a place. Is it an option for you to do month-to-month after your lease expires just in case the time frame ends up being longer than anticipated?

I'm reting the second floor of a private house, so that might be a possibility. But I much rather move out before that happens.

So assuming it takes 3-4 months, I guess I should start looking soon.

Ignorant twerp.

When I say it took me 17 years to purchase my apartment it is the truth.

When you read something you don't understand or cannot comprehend, don't immediately dismiss the likely possibility that it is YOUR IGNORANCE that is reponsible for the non-comprehension.

And in this case you are both ignorant and rude.
