Hi! I am moving out to New York in about a month! I have a studio in Chelsea in the lower twnties between 7th and 8th and I was wondering what are some good resturants to eat at near by. I really like sushi and would like to find a good sushi place near me. Since I don't plan on eating out alot price really isnt an concern and I would like to know some good low end resturants and high end resturants! Thanks so much in advance!

I actually just found a sushi place that was pretty good last weekend, but it's on the Lower East Side. It's called Fu Sushi on Ave B (10th & 11th st.). Prices are reasonable and good portions.

everything but sushi lol. - and not necessarily the cheapest either.

A Salt & Battery - great fried fish & chips takeout
Elephant & Castle - great neighborhood restaurant. awesome sandwiches and soups. killer coffee.
French Roast - perfect late night restaurant which functions like a diner. its open 24 hrs.
Cafeteria - popular spot to eat and be seen. for the good looking crowd lol.
Merchants - food and service is ok, but i like the convenient location. and the downstairs has a cool, cozy fireplace/couch setup. i enjoyed having cocktails and
a quick bite.
Shake Shack - its a small burger stand in madison square park. never eaten there, but the line to order is insane. it must be good.
Corner Bistro - those are some of the best burgers out there.
Magnolia Bakery - another place i've never eaten at, but the line is always out the door. those must be some good freakin cupcakes lol
Cornelia Street Cafe - nice cozy neighborhood restaurant. great beer/wine pairings with food. good food. and downstairs has jazz & spoken word. perfect to relax afterwards
1 Litte West 12 - more good food and drink in the meat packing district. cool fun vibe. gets crowded (well most of these places get crowded)
Blue Water Grille - go for the Sunday brunch. downstairs has jazz.

enjoy!
