Hey, Im 16 yrs old and im trying to move out of my apartment with my mother & 2 brothers. I have a neighbor who's been a pest to us, she has called ACS and the cops with so many complaints. My father left us and we have pretty much a month to leave our house because he did'nt pay rent. My mom is on section 8 and is a assistant teacher which does'nt pay enough money for 3 kids. We're looking for houses for rent. Cheap rent for the most until my brother and I get jobs. We can afford rent we just need extra money for food and other utilities bills.
The rent maximum for us right now is about 1000, the house should atleast have 2 rooms, if anyone has or if you know a good website or a good area with cheap house rent please let me know..
Thanks alot.

Go on craigslist and click "new york city". Search "all new york", enter your price range and you'll see there are units all over the city in your price range. If you go up to $1100, you'll have more choices. It sucks that your father left like that, but if you and your siblings help out, you'll be ok.

Also, if you have section 8, I'm sure they can refer you to building managers who register with them.

Also check www.realtor.com and then click on the rental link and put in your info. Good luck.

You might be eligible for food stamps. Check HRA - Food Stamps & Food Programs

What is your neighbor complaining about and does that have anything to do with why you have to leave?

Good luck.

What borough are you in/do you need? Look for apts. in Southeast Jamaica, Hollis, areas in the Bronx. If you need Queens PM me, I can give you some numbers. Good luck, I commend you for being responsible. I wish your family the best.
