Hey everyone... I'm looking into southeast NY. can anyone tell me more about the area? particularly the area to the right side of route 22 near the westchester putnum border.
Also can anyone tell me more about route 22 and 684 traffic during rush hour. Thanks
All I can say is that on Saturdays, at the junction of 684, 84 and 22 there is sometimes a huge backup (1-2 miles?) of cars going north on 684 to turn east onto 84. I have no idea what the weekday rush hour is like.
Going north on 22 on Sundays, there is sometimes a backup trying to get past the first light on 22 (a couple of miles up, in Putnam county) after you get off I-684. This seems to be less common now than it was a dozen years ago.
I am from Westchester County. If you want more readers to your post, I recommend rewording your question as Westchester/Putnam border or something like that. I would have never guessed you were talking about the 684/22 area!
Gotcha - Southeast is not a bad area at all! Route 22 does become congested during rush hour when it goes one lane in each direction. However, there might be ways to avoid that particular stretch of the road depending on where you need to be (locals know their backroads!). What else are you interested in finding out? Maybe I could answer some of your questions..
