My family and I are looking to move to the Adirondack area. Tiered of living in the city. Sick of all the crime. Originally from a small town. Love everything outdoors. Was hoping to get some info on the area. Looking at Glens Falls and Plattsburgh for work. Would like to live out and away from cities. No more than a half hour commute. Was also wondering how the schools are. We have four kids. Three are in grade school. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say somewhere near Plattsburgh or college towns like Canton or Potsdam, which are also close to the Adirondacks. All of those places have 2 and 4 year schools, as well as hospitals.

If you don't like Plattsburgh, perhaps Peru, Beekmantown, Keeseville, Chazy, Rouses Point, Champlain or the town of Plattsburgh would work. Canton and Potsdam would be like East Aurora or Hamburg, but with colleges.
