Ya gotta kinda wonder how the NY liberal mind works.
By far, 65%, most electricity in NY comes from nuclear and NG. Libs are terriblely opposed to both of those.
Do they tell themselves they are only using the hydro part?? 18%?? Or "other renewable"?? That's 3%.
And hydo is about tapped out. Other is never gonna get off the ground in NY. So more electric cars would need more electricity. Which would mean more nukes or fracking.
In recent years I've seen lots of wind mills in parts of upstate NY. There are proposals to put them offshore of NYC as well. So whatever role windpower plays, it could play a bigger role. There are also proposals to use the tides for electricity in NYC. That would raise the hydropower.
