Hi Maddie, I live in Tillson, which is part of Rosendale. We have lived here for 3 years. We are putting our house on the market shortly, and I have to say I will sincerely miss it here. Outside of the fact that we have a fabulous home and truly wonderful neighbors, Rosendale is really adorable. There are good restaurants all around, and the theater there is not to be missed. It has tin ceilings and $1.00 popcorn and shows great movies, carefully selected. It's a town happening and people socialize before the movie. There is a new Mexican restaurant which is terrific and the town sits on a river. It depends what you want to do here, but I can tell you that there are lots of artists around, and the hiking and outdoor activities abound. There is also the Mohonk Mountain House for truly elegant dinners and a spa not to be believed. In all, I think you would like it here. Perhaps you could share what you are looking for employment wise and I can also fill you in on that. Movingagain

I have always heard good things about Rosendale. DH is from Ulster (Wallkill) and a few of my mom's coworkers live out there and enjoy it. Some like Gardner too, Wallkill is adorable as well with good schools and nice homes. There is more inventory down in Wallkill and some of the homes have gotten cheaper. Might find yourself a bargain.

I would stay away from Modena and Plattekill tho, and keep away from New Paltz. Just a personal opinion. Modena and Plattekill for the tons of trailer parks and problem kids, New Paltz for the fact that it is overpriced.
