Found a house we love in Dutchess County and had the inspection done. Everything with the house looks great except for that there seems to be slow recovery on the well, which could indicate a major issue. We backed out of the deal because the owners were not upfront with us about this issue and kept pressuring us to drop the subject. However the week after we told the sellers we were backing out of the deal we received an email from our agent asking us if we would still consider buying the home if the owners put in a new well. What would you do?

In the USA, the average price of drilling a well is between $3,000 and $12,000 depending on the depth, geological conditions and local pricing. So if the sellers are willing to pay the costs of drilling a new well, I'd take them up on it but be sure to consult an attorney to see if there are any sneaky provisions in the sales contract.
