I worked out of Union Vale Middle school. Loved it there. The teachers really do a good job and get both kids and families engaged in over all feeling of a "family". I like too that they had a BOCES program run there for special needs students and those teachers were top notch. Beekman Elementary I drove a school bus out of. They too have a great team. The PTA is the best in the district IMHO. I like too they get the kids involved with safety patrols in the 5th grade, learning responsibility is a very good thing.
As to going grocery shopping, you won't be far from the Stop & Shop on Rt. 55 nor from Hannaford down by the high school on Rt. 55 either. It's not the boonies like it was when my hubby grew up in Lagrangeville-all your services are close by these days. There are good food places out there to go out to eat. We used to love Sonny's, but since he passed, I don't know if it's still open in Arthursburg. You won't go hungry as there are plenty of pizza places and other types of food places out there. Pot Belly Deli was our favorite place to get deli food.
It's a good area, we wish we'd moved back towards where the hubby grew up, but we were taking care of my elderly parents until they passed away. Now with our youngest graduating this year, it's time for us to say goodbye to this area where we can afford to live as county wide salaries here aren't enough to keep up anymore.
