My family is thinking of moving from the Tulsa, OK. to the Utica area. Does anyone have a idea of what a starting teachers salary is with a masters in education?
Look in the NY papers for jobs. You are more likely to find a job in the Adirondacks than Utica. They have a consortium of districts. I'm in the Buffalo area and they often post here -- they can't get teachers for the area ( very rural)
My guess would be mid to upper 30's. The is what most schools seem to offer near the capital, near central NY and in northern NY. You might see low 40's, if you are lucky.
Have you been NYS Certified yet? You will also have to have your finger prints done- there are fees for all of these things if you have not done so already. Get in touch with the NYS Board of Education.... or the Utica Boces... some SUNY Education Departments are helpful as well...that will get you started if you have not yet done so.
