So when do I become a resident of New York State? the Definition of Resident per section 250 of NY state Vehicle and Traffic law says I have to be living in the state for 90 days to be considered a resident, do I have to wait the full 90 days before changing my License and registering my vehicle in NY? The law says I have to change my license and register my vehicle within 30 days of becoming a resident, but I'm not too clear when I become a resident. If I sign a one lease and intend to use it as my primary address, am I than considered to be a resident of New York from that date? Or do I have to wait 90 days first?

I think you are supposed to change your license within 90 days of moving to New York.
