Ok so I purchased a used vehicle private party and I need to register it.
So let me get this straight. DMVs are closed, except for some appointment based in-person services which, for some reason does not include vehicle registrations. They expect you to mail everything to Albany, which can take 2-3 weeks assuming we still have a postal system by then.
I tried calling a few sketchy DMV services places, and they're basically saying the same thing. 2-3 weeks to get your plates back from Albany, and they charge $150... for what exactly since they're doing the same thing you could do yourself.
So... now what? I don't have 2-3 weeks. I understand COVID has impacted some essential services but how the hell does the DMV not have a better solution in place this into phase 4?
