One of the biggest wastes of tax payer money. Ever.

#1, if you are not from a particular state, do you really care who the damn governor is?
#2, if you don’t know who the governor of your actual state of residence is, you got bigger problems.

It’s nothing but an ego boost. Totally unnecessary.
Every time one of these clowns comes and goes, every one of these signs needs to be changed.
It’s beyond stupid.

He was called a foreigner (Kenyan), an Islamo-fascist, an atheist, a communist, a tan suit wearer, a Dijon mustard eater, a terrorist fist-bumper, Obummer, O-bomb-a, monkey, the ******-in-chief, the list goes on and on and on. And all of that is archived right here on City-Data forums.

He had pretty good approval in his first 100 days, but he was ultimately so despised by such a significant number of the electorate that he was succeeded by a populist with a string of endorsements from the anti-science, ultra-nationalist contingent of the population, not to mention the KKK, Alt-Right, and other White supremacist organizations.

Speaking of the topic, Kathy Hochul allies say she's very prepared to be governor: https://nystateofpolitics.com/state-...to-be-governor
Most of upstate voted Republican, not for Cuomo, except for one county. Unfortunately downstate has all the money and population. I would hope she would "clean house" and get rid of the good old boys in
Albany

Though honestly, I would rather have Barack Obama again instead of Joe Biden.
I didn't welcome Obama either. He accomplished nothing other than instigate racism in the country. Because of his color no one dare say a word against him, otherwise be labeled a racist. He won a Nobel Prize for nothing.

I think for Upstate, there is still a difference between more urban counties and the more rural counties.

Given her background, I believe she will be her one person and will weed out who she wants and doesn't want on her team for the period she is there.

In 2018? Off the top of my head, Ulster, Onondaga, Albany, Monroe, and Erie all went Cuomo. All places where people live in significant numbers. Oh, and Tompkins.

And Cuomo only trounced Molinaro, a reasonable, potentially electable candidate in my opinion, because he saddled him with the lead weight of Trumpism.

I live downstate and have never seen a more unpopular yet highly electable Democrat than Cuomo, and we have had some doozies. The fact that people will vote corruption over a candidate associated with a party with a reputation for toxic ideology is a fascinating albeit disturbing sign of the state of our country, much less our state.

The NYS Republican party has largely lost the trust of independents and even educated right-leaning voters because, whether you think it is fair or not, Trump has simply soured the Republican brand for enough New Yorkers to make a difference in our elections.

Only in New York is a persons ethnic origins dissected to determine their qualifications...

^To be honest, I don't think that is the case, as I mentioned earlier that her being an Upstate resident has more impact than her ethnicity.
