It's easier to accomplish big expensive goals by including the Boogeyman that is climate change....

"See my predecessor didn't make a mistake locating this under sea level......"

We been in Ice ages before rinse and repeat. The earth doesn't care about our plans...

You have to be 100% self sufficient nowadays. I see so many people on the NY news stations saying "why weren't we warned about this" and "my life is over now" when they live in a below ground illegal basement that flooded and there was only 1 way out through a small window.

People in the city are so reliant on others, they have forgotten how to take care of themselves. They take the subway when all the weather reporters are saying to get to high ground. In the 1800's you knew nothing about weather forecasting for hurricanes. You looked around at the ground in relation to rivers, and also looked to the vegetation to see if it was a wetlands or dry, scrubby vegetation indicative of an upland. We have lost all ability to survey our natural environment because 1) its paved over and 2) we prefer to just accept modern society. We've lost the old ways.

Then a greedy landlord offers you a basement apartment in a part of Queens that used to be a natural swamp (look at old maps from the 1800's, they exist, you'll see that your living in a former swamp). And you pay $2500 a month for a dangerous jail cell because you trust someone else to make living provisions for you.

Instead of investing 10k into stocks that make hedge fund managers rich, invest 10k into a generator so you are safe and can pump out your basement. Live where there are permeable soils the way God intended and survey the land that you want to live on. Is it in a valley? On a hill? Look at a map. GTFO out the cities. Stop relying on others.

Morons. It’s nature, it’s part of continuous evolution .
This place ain’t gonna be around forever.
Just ask the dinosaurs. I mean really. Climate change. It is what it is.
Nothing the human race can do about it. Just adapt.
Or we can kill all the cows. That might buy us a few months.

It doesnt matter. Its something the whole world has to do.

You cant have a few LARGE countries spewing unbridled pollution willy nilly, tax the crap outta everyone else and think you are doing something.

And what are the tax dollars going to do about it - exactly? Even green energy creates pollution, just in a different form.

You have an electric car. The car is still indirectly using fossil fuels, because fossil fuels are being used to create the electricity in the first place. "Oh we only burn deadfall." Yeah, and they dont lie about that either.

Its just another ripoff.

Im all for saving the planet, but it would be nice if we could really save it, and stop with the stupid 'shell game' approaches that create just as many problems in the long run as what we are currently doing.

Hurricanes and nor'easters? What are those?

Maybe if we all lived small and off grid, but Im not sure how you would do that in a place like NYC.

Stop making sense. You’re making yourself look uneducated.
