Hello! My friends and I are thinking about taking a trip to Lake George in July (or someplace in that NY or VT region). Was wondering if you know of any place that might satisfy our criteria:

1. Possibly 4 families:
a. One couple with no kids
b. One couple with three kids aged 14, 13 and 12
c. One couple with a child about 5 or 6
d. One couple with a baby of 7 months

2. Three families coming from Eastern Mass, one from SW CT

3. We're happy to stay in an inn, hotel or motel, but we're also open to renting a large house

4. Should have access to water/beaches/lake

5. Activities for kids of all ages - sports, games and other fun things.

6. Maybe near some hiking spots with hills (for me, mostly)

7. Near restaurants with bars

8. Not too expensive. We're not exactly rolling in dough.

Lake George is pretty much what we're looking at - as much as we'd like to go further to the Finger Lakes, the trip gets a bit longer, especially since we'll have a young baby in the car. If you know of any places on the VT or MA side of the border that fit these criteria, I'd be more than happy to read your suggestions.

Thanks!

What about Glens Falls, which has museums, the Great Escape and is still close to the Adirondacks. It is about 20 minutes closer than Lake George, but that community would still be a viable option from Glens Falls. Glens Falls is full of things to do, delicious restaurants, and numerous places to shop for everyone in your family or friends.

One of those mansions looked reasonably priced. Suggesting the idea to my friends.

^Perhaps if are open to Lake Champlain, you could stay near AuSable Chasm and take the ferry to Burlington as well. https://www.ausablechasm.com/

Fort Ticonderoga may be worth a trip: https://www.fortticonderoga.org/
