If you notice, this is an agency of the government of Ontario. That is how they keep the prices low and the quality high. I have been going to the Falls since the 1950's (I got married there) and I have seen first hand, the progression. I must say it has been extremely well done. The difference between the USA side and the Canadian is like night and day. I plan on heading up there in late May. We try to get up there every year even though we live in Florida. There is something about it that has a special place in my heart.
Another place that hasn’t been mentioned that just came to mind is Cooperstown. It has the Glimmerglass Festival, the Farmers’ Museum, the Fenimore Art Museum and of course, the Baseball Hall of Fame. It is a nice, quaint lakeside community on Otsego Lake. It is also in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains.
Watkins Glen State Park is a must-visit for us this summer. I bookmarked one of the videos you posted ckh - this one below. Beautiful. I wonder how they got that footage with basically no people in the park? Imagine how incredible to have that place to yourself. Wow:
I have to admit, even though it is so touristy and cliche... I really want to do one of the up-close boat rides at Niagara Falls! I guess Maid of the Mist and Hornblower are the two options?
On the drive from the Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake we will stop at the Botanical Gardens that Thundarr recommended. I think that looks really lovely. Going straight from there to NOTL with its gorgeous floral displays will be horticulture heaven!

I'm assuming they got the footage very early in the day.
As for gardens, out of those listed, I'd say that Sonnenberg Gardens in Canandaigua and Yaddo in Saratoga Springs are the most extensive out of the bunch.
