Northern Wappinger falls (Poughkeepsie, South Hill, Wappingers Falls: house, neighborhood, school)

Looked at a home in Merrywood subdivision, nice house but needs some work. Concerned about area since close to Poughkeepsie border west of route 9 south of Poughkeepsie Galleria and the Shops at South Hill. The neighborhood looked nice but know nothing about it since I’m not from that area. Any feedback would be welcomed. TIA

Wappingers Falls is closer/next to the town of Poughkeepsie, which is different from the city of Poughkeepsie, which varies. You are actually close/next to the Spackenkill SD, which is a good SD.

Also, the Galleria is in the Wappingers SD. If you zoom in within the shaded area on the map, which covers the Wappingers SD, you'll see that the Galleria is actually within the SD: http://www.usa.com/school-district-3629880.htm
