i hope this is the right forum for my question....i live in the long island area of nyc and am planning a move to upstate cortland area..very,very soon.i need all the information thati can get regarding that area as i dont want to be completely lost. what are the best and wosrt places to live i plan on renting for awhile b fore i purchase.what is the racial climate in cortland how about shopping and entertainment.do they have a movie theater.where will i get my car detailed any thing a sister of color should know any help would be appreciated as i am terrified of culture shock

Divine, you might want to also post in the Syracuse forum as Cortland is in the Central NY region. Also, use "Cortland" in your subject line and you'll probably get more responses.

Cortland County is not included in the Syracuse area forum. Only Onondaga County, parts of Madison and Oswego counties are...

Cortland is over a half hour away from the Syracuse area and is not even in Syracuse's Metropolitan area. I know very little about Cortland since it's so rural and is more connected with Ithaca's Metro than Syracuse's.
