Hi,
I hope this post is appropriate for this site, my apologies if it is not.
My husband was offered a position in Geneva. Last weekend we spent 4 days exploring the Geneva/Canadaigua area and quite frankly it did not sing to us. We are from the New Paltz/Woodstock area and found the Ithaca/Trumansburg area much more inline with our values and needs. The problem is - regardless there seems to be very little in the way of houses for rent anywhere in the Fingerlakes region. Since we are just moving and are unsure of the area we do not want to commit to buying a house. We just spent 18 months in CA and we were very happy that we had the opportunity to move back to the East coast; since we only rented.
Does anyone have any suggestions of where we can look? We need a 3 bedroom/2 bath off the main road but not too far from town. As I write this, I know I am asking the world. Trumansburg seems to be good fit being close to Ithaca but north so my husband's commute would be under an hour. Plus, the school system seems to be fairly good as we have a very bright 6 year old who tends to impress his teachers and us (but we are bias, being his parents
)
I have been glued to Craigslist and Realtor.com, are there any other good sites or publications?
Thanks for all your suggestions, and I look forward to meeting up with everyone. We hope to move up in May.
Peace,
Debbie
