Why doesn't Nissan offer the Altima base engine as an optional engine on the current Sentra? It's very fuel efficient on the larger and heavier Altima so it could be both fuel efficient and quick on the Sentra.

The Altima i4 engine is 38% larger in size. How would they make the engine bay in the sentra larger?

The new Sentra is an enigma to me. Based on engine options it is strictly an economical car only. It would make more sense to offer either the Versa or Sentra with several engine options but not both, especially since the new Altima's now have outstanding fuel economy.
