Among your friends - and they can be just regular ol' friends or a boy- or girl-friend - do you recognize levels of friendship?
Is it like Farmville on FaceBook - you start off with little energy or resources, but as you go on you reach higher levels? Or do you go full-out from the beginning and have no expectations for change in the future?
I ask because a fairly close "regular" friend of mine recently made a comment to the effect that she was taking our friendship to the next level. I know the first thing that came to MY mind but it also has me wondering if, in this case, women have yet another secret code for "levels". Does she now want to trust me to pick up her mail and cleaning while I'm out? Perform open-heart surgery on her dog?
It comes down to trust and comfort. Some friends I trust with the keys to my home or my deepest secrets, others I may only trust them enough to loan them my car or a fishing pole. Some I may feel comfortable enough to talk to about more intimate topics, others more casual.

I going back to my x-files level of love:
Trust no one.
Meh - I used to feel that way quite often, but as the years roll on I find I have a desire to completely trust at least one person...
