I have one colleague who has this one long chest hair that sticks out from his shirt at the neckline.
He's not even trying to unbutton his shirt halfway or anything. There's just this one hair that is unusually long.
I don't know how he hasn't noticed it before, and there's no way I could mention it.
There was a student who worked in an office with me, who wore t-shirts, and his chest hair peeked over the top. Kinda distracting. It made me realize why ties were invented. The male equivalent of the Victorian high collar on women. It works!
I guess I'm just surprised at the AMOUNT of "steam" people have over so many issues with others' appearances.
*shrug*
No 'blowing off steam' as far as I'm concerned. The OP asked about people's grooming habits that were distracting (or annoying). My example was exactly that, a distraction that I can easily avoid when necessary.
I think we are having some fun..it does distract me in line when
I see someone with a bold spot on their head
made by their pillow...and they don't have a clue!
But, boy does the front of them look great!
May all you with secret pillow head be aware ...there's someone behind you
that knows you did not shower this morning...
Ummm, yeah. ... that's not what I was getting at in the least.... Just voicing an opinion. But thank you for your passive aggressive insult directory targeted at me. That's always a pleasure.

*shrug too*
Never saw the word 'annoying'....I'm not annoyed by anybody's grooming....distracted
for a minute
and given a giggle is a whole other thing!

Um..I wouldn't categorize a rather innocuous discussion on a chat forum as "steam". So far, I haven't seen anyone going off on an all caps rant over a little dandruff. People are just talking here, honest. No need to get your undies in a bundle over it.
