It hasn't been "such a big thing" in 20 years, but it still pops up at weddings because it's an easy dance. You should have gotten out there and figured it out. The entire dance is two 8-counts repeated over and over. You probably could have picked it up by the second verse.
Am I the only one out there that doesn't know how to do the mocarena? I was at a wedding once where most everyone got up to do it. It looked fun but I didn't have a clue. I hadn't realized it was such a big thing. I don't go out dancing or to bars or clubs.
It was a big thing in the 90's. I could probably pick it up again pretty quickly if I tried. Same with the electric slide.
Thats not what yopu implied in your first posts. You mentioned it looked fun but you didn't have a clue and felt out of the loop. That sounded like you wanted to join in but didn't know how. If you really had no interest in participating then what's the problem?

I don't know how to do it, don't wanna do it, and I had no idea people were still doing it . I sound like a grump, I know, but god how I hated that stupid song and dance.
That's what I was thinking when I saw this thread, I think if they play it at a wedding it is for the benefit of the parents and not the bride and groom who are too young to remember or care.
