Back when I went to High School, most of my friends were either upperclassmen or lower classmen. I had a few friends in my class, but most of them were cliquish and snobby. By junior and senior year, everybody in my class was in their own little clique, and I wasn't part of them. I was fine with that though, because no matter what grade my friends were in, they were still good friends. I even went to my senior prom with a sophomore.

Was anybody else's high school experience like this? Not really apart of your class's "circle," but instead friends from different grades?

To each his own i guess. I had friends in my own class as well as other classes. I will say that I actually met my closest friends and my husband after high school in a completely different.

There will probably always be cliques since people like to hang out with like-minded people but don't let that stop you from trying to get to know people in cliques. Some of them may turn out to be the most interesting people you'll ever meet.

Most of my good friends were in the same grade as I was. Now I have friends of all ages...none of us are extremely close though.

I am surprised I can remember....it was so long ago...

Interestingly enough, I found myself hanging out with many seniors and juniors when I was a freshman.

I looked old enough to be one, and I just happened to be taking quite a few electives where they were the majority.

No, nearly all my friends and associates were in my class, but in my senior year, my best friend was a Junior.

No. Me and my sibs were so close in age/grade we dared not cross the divide.
