If anything even when I was a virgin after graduating from HS many years ago, my father would have been the last person on earth I would even want to share that information.
Same here. Atheist and happy about it. I feel that some of those religious folks are waiting till marriage for the wrong reasons, as if they were taught that premarital sex was dirty, hence they might be having sexual hangups. I would understand better if they were actually saving it for the person they want to get married to because of it being their special day to them, not because they feel having sex is something to be ashamed about, esp if it's in a relationship.
If I gave my father a certificate of my virginity, he would have been totally freaked out. My sex life hasn't been anything he's been concerned with since I've been an independent adult. He raised me and had his chance to influence me for the first 18 years of my life. What I've done as an adult has been my own business.
Now, my mother would be appalled. She'd want to know how I could be sure I was compatible with the guy.

Your sex life should be NONE of your parents' business IMO. My mother is Christian who believes in "purity", I'm non-religious who wants to lose his virginity fast. My sex life is completely off-limits to her.
I would have thought she'd give the certificate to her new husband.....weird that her dad got it.
Agreed. She gave it to the wrong guy.
Very strange indeed.
