artsyguy,
How do you know for sure it's "you" that's the problem?
You don't know for sure, do you?
Don't assume the worst; it could be they are mental cases.
Wouldn't want to hang out with that, would you?
Um. I'm a busy doctor, but I'll answer anyway. Artsyguy, if you didn't socialize with your cousins before you moved into their town to go to school, why should they suddenly be interested in you? Just because you're living near by and you're family doesn't mean you'll fit into their schedule. I'm sure they were just being polite. Don't worry about it.
Text or email them again and tell them you're having a big drinking party. They will come.
Seriously, I have family members that are so involved in there lives or there kids/grandkids lives that nothing else is important.
I think also that when family all get together, they may have good intentions of keeping in touch but life happens and they don't.
It's rude but nothing can be done about it really.
Some people are just lame. Give up on them unless they contact you. Family sometimes takes you for granted, that's a fact. Their loss.
Artsyguy took his cousins for granted all along, now he wants them to play with him because he lives near by and has no friends. He has no reason to be hurt.
I havent talked to most of my cousins in yrs. Most live in the east, 1 lives in az & 1 lives nearby. The one nearby i pretty much grew up & he moved here from pa after his dad died yrs ago. We havent been close in quite a few yrs. He rarely returns my phone calls. Except for my immediate family i literally have no contact with any family members. My dad lives nearby & i have seen him a total of 3 times in 3 yrs. Oh well....
