And then the OP can get arrested for making a false report. Great idea. Does the name Tamir Rice ring any bells?

If your home was being broken into on a regular basis, would you be expected to 'take a stand' against the thieves and not call police?

This is what the 'broken windows' concept of policing is for. Stop minor crimes and misdemeanors, and overall crime will decrease.
No, he/she had decided to sit back and complain online( until their most recent post that is). The school said they would help with identifying the culprits, the OP didn't pursue it. I never suggested taking things into her own hands. I did say she would do far more to move the investigation along by #1, getting the IDs #2 getting together with neighbors dealing with the same situation and #3 pressing charges for vandalism. Next?

You can change the inside of your house to make it a home, but you can't change the neighborhood so relocating sounds like the best option. I know, I know, it is hard and sometimes you have to wait a while to get the funds together but what is the cost of not moving? Hopefully, LE will get the support it needs next year to stand up to the behavior and remove the problems.

If the HOA sign is on private property LE might not care.

People like you are why our prisons are packed, you are lieing on someone and it can get those teens killed or shot because of your anger and selfishness. Granted you want the crime to stop but don't make false allegations on someone. That is the problem with our system so called victims like YOU are making false allegations.

There is no 'next'. You are clueless.

How about putting the videos on You Tube, and increasing the views using your Facebook and Twitter followers?
Nothing hurts teens more than being shamed on social media. (I am unaware if this can have any legal ramifications, though)

Go over their heads to the state police and let them know you are getting zero support locally and you feel threatened in your own neighborhood.

Well of course we should do anything about these fine, upstanding, citizens. I mean they would never do anything to harm a fly. How anyone could possible accuse them is a fault of our society. Instead perhaps the homeowners should provide cookies and milk for the next vandalizing event.

Good grief!

It isn't selfish to want to protect one's property and community. The problem with the 'system" is the criminal, period; and that's why our prisons are packed. If the police are not responding to these issues seriously, as is the case here, you have to make them do so.

Is this in Vegas? Metro won't do anything until a shooting happens. They don't even respond to burglaries or car accidents.

Try the school board and school. Try a city council meeting, thought in Vegas again it is a waste of time.

Well, first, the OP can remain anonymous making a 911 call. Second, who's to say what she may or may not have seen? Maybe it was a rock, but it looked like a knife...

Honestly Mattie, your posts are usually reasonable and insightful, but I think you're wrong on this one. The OP and her neighbors are essentially being terrorized by these punks, and the cops are doing nothing. It's time for them to escalate the response.
