So a girl in her 30s really wants to get married and have kids & meets a 40 year who also really wants kids too. 2 months of dating - she moves in with him - and his widowed mother - lives there rent free. 2 months after that - they get engaged & his mother is giving them the house they all live in as a wedding present - which is being scheduled just barely after their first year together- because sonny boy helps her with the bills she can't pay alone and she's so thrilled with the prospect of having the grandkids she always wanted and doesn't want her mama's boy to move away from her which he and his new fiance threaten to do if she doesn't give them the house.

Sound like a pathetically desperate act - a scam - or just 3 people working it out to get what they want

If they all are getting what they want, who cares?

It is hard to know a person's real agenda, but I'd go with the parties seeking the arrangement that best suits their needs.

Problem here is, are they coercing her to give them the house with this threat or just saying they don't want to live in somebody else's house and would rather have one of their own?
There's a big difference.

They're threatening his mother to give them the house? But I thought it was her idea, because she's so thrilled he's getting married, etc.?

Whaa? Who threatens a parent to give them the house as a wedding present? And wouldn't that incur a huge tax?

Is the mother going to move out?
Doesn't sound like it... how is that a gift?
But-- whatever works for THEM.

Can people just live their lives in peace without all the haters chiming in thinking they know all about life but they don't. I smell jealousy

Sounds like it's working out great for everyone. Who knows ultimately.

They're all adults and can make decisions as they want to.
