He probably wonders why you keep following him around.
Well to be fair many times he's the one that shows up at a place where I am already. The coffee shop for example I was already there and I saw him as he walked in. I would say it's hard to think one or the other is a stalker since it's pretty balanced on who shows up at a place first.
But I think my point is that other people that live around me I never see them.
You probably do, but you don't notice for some reason. Some distinctive feature about this man just might be registering in your subliminal memory. Why are some faces more memorable than others? Why do strangers come up to you certain they know you? Does that happen to you? It does to me, but I am unusually tall...people remember and superimpose that incomplete memory on top of something else. There are people I see around town that become familiar a lot more quickly even though I've never had any interaction with them. Others could walk by me a lot more often and I couldn't tell you where or if I'd ever seen them before.
Just had an odd encounter in the local market. Someone I started walking past looked really familiar, but I couldn't quite connect a name to the face. A common problem for me so I get used to asking for reminders. I stopped, smiled, started to say hello, was obviously "stuck" on the name, finally apologized and hinted around for it. He was very nice about it and laughed. Turned out to be a locally famous TV personality. No, I had never actually met them, but my memory convinced me I had, just because of the face. Of course he didn't know me from Adam either but was polite enough not to mention it.

I am sure you have spoken to each other after fourteen years of running into each other.
Sounds fascinating!
