I refuse to have a conversation with someone through text. If they want to ask a quick question, fine. but when they start typing away to discuss things going on in their life, I shut them down and tell them to call me or come over; they usually don't.
I MUCH prefer in-person.
Altho I can be flexible. I have a friend, we email almost every day, even tho she lives 4 blocks from me. Every time I suggest a meet-up for coffee she has a reason why not. So apparently she prefers email to in -person.
I love being in daily touch with her, so I accomodate.
Old thread but always a current topic so I'll join in too.
Real life friends and family: occasional e mail, but we do our talking in person. E mail is generally just to set the date, or to tell each other something of note or share a picture. Phone is for emergencies only.
I don't love phone and video conversations, but I will do both in order to stay in contact with long distance friends. I much prefer meeting in person where possible.
