I have only known one person like this but he cracks me up. We have worked together for the last 7 months and I've noticed if he comes up and says hey I'll be right back and then I'm going to do such and such he never does. Don't get me wrong he is capable of getting quite a bit done in a day but what ever he announces hes going to do never gets done. Do you suppose its his way of letting me know it needs to get done?

Well, if you think that he is hinting around for you to do, what he says he`s gonna do, but never does, then thats up to you if you feel like you should, or want to do it.

Why don`t you call him on it?
We work together and believe me I do my share and then some, I love it when its super busy. I don't want to call him on it because I'm having too much fun waiting for the next time lol

There are alot of people out there though that say they will do something, and it never happens. I call these people full of sh*t!
I think that his shrink told him that he needs to encourage himself more. So, he is saying what he is going to do, get really proud about it... and that's enough for him

You mean the raise I have been promised for over the last two years? Or when he promises me he is going to get some parts or materials and comes back four hours later when the job is almost done. With me of course picking up the slack and the load of two guys by myself? Never!
