The first week we were here we noticed some simple things that had been absent living in a large urban area---hopefully Raleigh and Charlotte wont loose these icons..

I hope you are right

Charlotte in particular is a very SUBURBAN city, which is one of the things that makes it unique and so nice.

Before Hurricane Hugo it was known as the "city of trees and churches".

We lost so many thousands of trees during that storm that it was unbelievable! And while the trees seem to have rebounded and give us many lush areas the nickname is not as common as it used to be
